Convicted felon Donald Trump has had a difficult four years. Hundreds of his former administration officials and influential Republicans have spoken out against him and in some cases, have endorsed his competitor, the honorable and wonderful Kamala Harris.

With the election less than 2 weeks away, polls currently show Vice-President Kamala Harris and convicted felon Donald Trump are statistically tied with no clear winner. Somehow…these two are tied. This means it all comes down to every single American getting to their polling place on election day and making their voices heard.
Speaking of which, you can use the link below to register to vote, find your polling place, and make a plan to vote on November 5th.
But while MAGA supporters might be screaming louder than ever for their proclaimed savior, over 200 high-profile republicans have put country over party and endorsed Kamala Harris. And for possibly the first time ever on this show, I honestly have to congratulate republicans on a job well done in putting our democracy first and not following the MAGA cult leader.
First up to bat is Former House Representative for Wyoming, Liz Cheney. She is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney who served under President Bush from 2001 to 2009. On September 6th, 2024, during an event at Duke University, she stated her intent to vote for Kamala Harris, saying:
Next is Dick!...Cheney. Get your mind out of the gutter. At the same event, the Former Vice President also announced his intent to vote for Harris in November, saying:
Dick Cheney: “In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again...As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.”
Next, you may remember Alberto Gonzalez from the George W. Bush Administration. He was his Attorney General. On September 12th, he did an op-ed in Politico, stating "As the United States approaches a critical election, I can’t sit quietly as Donald Trump — perhaps the most serious threat to the rule of law in a generation — eyes a return to the White House. For that reason, though I’m a Republican, I’ve decided to support Kamala Harris for president. The character of the person we elect in November is particularly important today because the current members of the House of Representatives and the Senate have proven spectacularly incapable or unwilling to check abuses of executive power."
Alberto Gonzalez brings up an excellent point. Constitutionally, the Executive branch was supposed to be the weakest branch of the government, whose only job was to defend the country and to enforce the will of the legislative and judicial branches. That's why you might hear republicans like Trump keep blaming Kamala and Joe Biden for not doing enough as President. Our founding fathers didn't want the president to have dictator-like powers. That's the whole reason we broke away from England and became the United States.
Throughout our history, presidents have chosen to expand or contract the power of the presidency, mostly while the Legislative or Judicial branches sit back and watch. President Ulysses S. Grant was known for being very much a “hands off” president, who allowed the legislative branch to do what they are meant to do. However, in recent decades, successive presidents have increased the power of the Executive Branch, from the Patriot Act, which allowed essentially warrantless wiretapping, to the Obama Administration being given the power to kill an American overseas if they were deemed to be an “enemy combatant”.
Now, with recent Supreme Court decisions, the president is immune from prosecution while in office and immune from prosecution for “Official Acts”. That begs the question, who decides what an “official act” is? Well, it's the president, of course. And that is what Donald Trump's Project 2025 is relying on to give him unquestioned and uncontrollable power if elected again.
As you can see, Alberto Gonzalez is 100% correct. The checks and balances placed into our government with a Trump-controlled congress and Trump-appointed federal judges and supreme court, have proven woefully inadequate in stopping a president on a crime spree.
Just as one example of this, Trump arguably committed treason on the United States. The Supreme Court said he's immune from prosecution, and now he's running again and has an unbelievable 50/50 chance of being president again. Nobody is coming to save us. So, we need to save ourselves.
Next up is Republican Representative Adam Kinzinger. He appeared as a speaker at the Democratic National Convention, saying in his speech:
You should know Kinzinger has been a frequent critic of Trump throughout his tenure as a Representative.
Now we have Former Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan. The governor was asked by Trump to “find the votes” in 2020 to turn the state red and swing the election back to Donald Trump. They chose Democracy over party and declined Trump’s request to rig the election. Geoff later spoke at the Democratic National Convention this year saying:
Next, we have Stephanie Grisham who was White House Press Secretary under Trump and Chief of Staff to First Lady Melania Trump. She resigned on January 6th, 2021, when she saw thousands of Trump’s supporters violently breach the capitol while Donald Trump did nothing about it. She spoke at the Democratic National Convention as well stating:
Next up is a man you likely have never heard of because his positions have never been political. His name is William Webster. He served as the CIA and FBI director under Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. Keep in mind that this guy was directing the CIA back when the Soviet Union had spies actively trying to hurt us. He was spectacularly good at what he did.
He recently signed on to a letter of more than 100 Republican national security and foreign policy officials who worked under various presidential administrations from Carter to Trump. The letter states, “We expect to disagree with Kamala Harris on many domestic and foreign policy issues, but we believe that she possesses the essential qualities to serve as President and Donald Trump does not. We therefore support her election to be president.”
Speaking of people who could make you disappear, next up is John Negroponte. He was director of National Intelligence for President George W. Bush. He also signed his name to the same letter as William Webster.
Moving on, we have Cassidy Hutchinson. She was a former staffer for White House Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows under Donald Trump. She testified before the House January 6th Committee in 2022 about Donald Trump’s actions on that day, how his mob of deplorables assaulted democracy, and the free and fair election of our nation. She spoke to MSNBC on October 2nd stating:
She used her experience as an aide to Trump’s Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, Trump’s comments in meetings and his choice of JD Vance as his running mate to make her decision. She stated that a candidate's character really matters and that both Harris and Walz have working class backgrounds. She went on to say:
Cassidy Hutchinson: “Kamala Harris is from a working-class backround. Tim Walz is from a working-class background. Those are the people that Donald Trump claimed to represent but actually exploited and manipulated their support. So I say to Republican who may be on the fence: I understand how frightening it can be to potentially break with your party. I also understand there are concerns, and very valid concerns with inflation. But Donald Trump and JD Vance cannot be trusted with the Constitution. They cannot be trusted to uphold the rule of law and they can't be trusted to enact responsible policy."
Moving on to Mike Pence. Trump’s former Vice President has stated that he will not endorse Donald Trump for president. He stopped short of saying he’s going to vote for Kamala Harris, just saying, “I’m going to keep my vote to myself.” For Mike Pence, that’s about as damning as it gets for Trump. Can you think of any other former Vice President who didn’t endorse their running mate in recent history? I certainly can’t.
You may recall that Trump’s murderous mob was chanting “Hang Mike Pence”. The January 6th Committee heard testimony that Trump was in support of hanging Mike Pence. Think about that for a second. The president was in support of murdering his running mate. But to MAGA supporters, it’s still a mystery why the man doesn’t support Trump. Or is it that MAGA supporters think Mike Pence is the traitor for following the Constitution over blindly supporting their cult leader? Who knows?
And while we're on the topic of running mates, we have to talk about JD Vance. The current vice-presidential candidate on the Republican ticket with Trump has said in the past that Donald Trump is "America's Hitler." What a great endorsement your running-mate made of you, Donald Trump.
Last but certainly not least, General Mark Milley. 'Believe me', we've saved the best for last. He is a retired General in the United States Military. He served as the 20th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Trump and was confirmed in a nearly unanimous vote of 89-1 in the US Senate. And just as a word of caution, he has the mouth of a sailor.
On June 20th 2020, peaceful protests were going on following the murder of George Floyd. Trump ordered federal officers and police to use tear gas and riot control tactics to disperse protesters, simply so Trump could have a photo op in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church. You might recall this now-famous photo of Trump holding the Bible upside down. To think, the man is now selling bibles.
Anyway, Milley walked with Trump across Lafayette Square but quickly realized that this gave the appearance of military approval of domestic affairs. He did not stay for the photo op, stating he felt “sick” and was “fucking done with this shit”. He drafted a highly critical resignation letter that same day but convinced himself not to send it because then no one would be in the top military position to stop Trump if he did something crazier. He did later release his drafted resignation letter to the public and it’s very damning to Trump if you want to pause the video to read it here.
Just as a side note, after this day onward in Trump's administration, Milley actually wore regular clothes to bed every single night just in case Trump did something absolutely crazy in the middle of the night. So, that way he would be up and ready to go at any time which is absolutely insane.
After Trump’s loss in 2020, although JD Vance can’t even admit 4 years later that they lost, Milley became increasingly concerned that Trump was going to attempt a coup. He began holding discussions with his deputies about possible ways to thwart it, telling associates, “They may try, but they’re not going to fucking succeed. You can’t do this without the military. You can’t do this without the CIA and the FBI. We’re the guys with the guns.”
Think about this for a moment. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was so concerned about Trump’s erratic behavior, that he began preparing to stop an attempt to violently overthrow the government. Had Pence gone along with Trump, this could have very easily descended into a violent encounter, all at the behest of Donald Trump.
Just for a moment, think about how many MAGA fans are in your friends, family, coworkers, and in your hometown. None of them think Trump causing a violent civil war is important enough for them to vote against him but the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs had to work with his team to stop the military from being used against American citizens.
Just this week, Trump laughed about the idea that if he does not win the 2024 election, he would cause a civil war and he mentioned many times at his rallies that he would happily turn the military against his political rivals and the enemy within, meaning democrats or anyone who votes against him this year.
Milley was later quoted in Rucker and Leonnig’s book as saying the storming of the capitol was a “Reichstag moment”, referring to the Nazi attempt to cement their power by blaming “extremists” within their society. The bombing of the German Reichstag is widely considered to be when the Nazi’s cemented their power within Germany. Milley began referring to Trump’s false statements about electoral fraud as “the gospel of the Fuhrer”.
Although, it's kind of good to think he's not the only one that thinks Trump is "America's Hitler".
In Woodward and Costa’s book, called Peril, Milley explained that after the attack on the capitol, Milley became concerned that Trump may go rogue and ordered his staffers to inform him of any military action ordered by Trump.
On January 8th, 2021, Milley spoke to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to assure her that the nuclear triggers were secure and “We’re not going to allow any crazy, illegal, immoral or unethical things to happen.”
In that same book, Milley said he fears being court-martial-ed if Trump becomes President again. He called Trump “the most dangerous person ever who is a fascist to his core.”
There are hundreds more that we could go into, including 17 Former Reagan Administration officials who signed a joint letter saying that Reagan would recognize Trump for the threat to democracy that he is and would never support him.
This should concern any American who wants to continue living in a republic with democratically elected leaders. In closing, I’ll leave you with the words of poet Maya Angelou who says: “When somebody shows you who they are, believe them.” And even if you're a MAGA supporter watching this, please listen when your cult leader constantly says:
